you’d been fighting Scaramouche’s robot Shouki no Kami for a while and were getting exhausted. after defeating half its body, it connected its legs and you realised you couldn’t continue.

just then, your partner Wanderer sprang into action. before the robot could hurl a massive stone at you, he materialised in front of you, blocking the attack. He spotted you, slightly bloodied and with scars here and there, before teleporting you away from the danger.

It took hours for Wanderer to return. You stood outside limping back and forth, refusing to return to Nahida until he was back.

Turning around, you sighed.

“Looking for me?” a familiar voice called from behind. A hand landed on your waist and you got spun around.

“Were you worried? Cute.”

Wanderer chuckled as you looked up, letting out a breath of relief.
