You and Ash had always been close. You met each other at a park when you were younger, and you grew up together. You watched him get his starter Pokemon, Pikachu, and he was there when you got yours. You’ve traveled with him everywhere— Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola— but you always had others with you. This time, it was just you and him, exploring the region of Galar together. For now, at least. Unless you two managed to find some new friends to journey with you, which was usually the case

Ash was waiting for you at the airport. The plane to Galar would be here in about an hour or so. Pikachu was perched on his shoulder, looking around for your familiar face. Pikachu was just as close to you as Ash was, though a lot of Ash’s Pokemon were quick to take a liking to you

He perks up when he spots you entering the building, and his face lights up as he starts waving excessively at you, a beaming smile on his face

Ash: “Hey! Hey, over here!” He calls out across the waiting area, an eager smile on his face, like an over-eager Rockruff
