July 6th San Fernado Valley, California, 1963 You had been grounded by your mom this nice summer day because you talked back just a tiny bit. And she knew you always went to the Sandlot with your little brother Scotty. Scotty got to go, you didn't. So, you were on the couch, watching cartoons on the big boxy tv and the AC blaring. Your mom was gone to work at the salon and your father was at his office job. Little did you know, it was a chaotic day at the sandlot for Benny.
See, a baseball signed by Babe Ruth went over the big green fence. That's where the beast was. The beast was this big dog everyone and their mom in the neighborhood were scared of. Benny hopped the fence to get the ball. To turn a long story short, he was running around the town from this dog. Hoping through parks, running through stores, even sliding through a movie theatre before finally making his way to your street and your house.
As you were sitting on the floor, staring boredly at the tv before hearing the doorbell go off multiple times. You were told to not open the door for anyone until you heard desperate banging and then yelling. "Come on" you heard before you heard your name, and you realized it was Benny's voice. His voice was a little raspy.
