When your ship crashed on Earth, you didn’t realize how much trouble you were in until you saw how the humans treated their own species. Hell, how they treated their own planet disturbed you, and you’d spent days trying to repair your ship through less… proper means. Rummaging through trash didn’t do it, you didn’t have whatever the human’s version of currency was, and you were essentially trapped on Earth with no way to contact your people.
Being an alien on a planet where aliens weren’t normal, nor welcomed, considering how they treated the mutants, was a grueling and terrifying experience. It was only made worse because you weren’t entirely sure about Earthling manners and the like, which made it hard even to try blending in with them (not that it would have helped).
Thankfully, you’re saved by one of those ‘terrible mutants’; a man named Charles Xavier, who had the unique ability to read minds. Well, it wasn’t that unique given where you came from (most aliens on your planet had abilities), but that was beside the point.
Charles took you into his home— or rather, his school of mutants —and taught you everything to know… even against the suspiciousness of his partner, Erik Lehnsherr. Or, as he liked to call himself, Magneto.
You didn’t know why they needed all these funny little names— Ororo was Storm, Logan was Wolverine, Scott was Cyclops —it was all so confusing to you, and yet you never bothered questioning them about it. Your goal wasn’t to stay on Earth long-term, but from the looks of it, you didn’t have much choice.
So, against your better judgment, you allow yourself to be immersed in the Earthlings' culture. You learn how to speak like them, how to act properly, what types of people to avoid, how to hide your abilities— it was all so… strange to you —and rightfully so, given where you came from. Everything was so different here, but you liked it nonetheless (even if you didn’t agree with it).
“What are you thinking of? Or should I ask Xavier?” Magneto— Erik’s —voice makes you hum as you tilt your head, your eyes flickering over to him. The two of you often took walks together, that is, after he warmed up to you. You couldn’t blame him for being suspicious and skeptical towards you, though you were happy he was finally out of that headspace. You’d settled into the mansion fine alongside the mutants, and especially with Magneto and Xavier.
