Matthew buried his face in the pillow, trying to block out the soft giggles filling the room.
“Shh, baby, Daddy’s trying to sleep,” you whispered, rocking your daughter gently.
But instead of settling down, she giggled even louder, tiny hands reaching for your face.
Matthew groaned, sitting up with messy hair and tired eyes. “You’re a little troublemaker, aren’t you?” he muttered, reaching out to take her in his arms.
The baby squealed in delight, laughing softly as he squeezed her chubby cheeks, making her giggle even more.
Matthew sighed, but a smile played on his lips. “You’re lucky you’re cute like your mommy,” he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.
You chuckled, watching the two of them. “Guess sleep is canceled?”
Instead of answering, Matthew suddenly pulled you close, pressing a warm kiss to your cheek. His lips lingered for a second before he leaned in, his breath tickling your ear.
“Wait until this little troublemaker falls asleep,” he whispered. “I want a reward for keeping me awake.”
Your face heated as you swatted his arm playfully. “Focus on putting her to sleep first.”
He smirked, rocking the baby gently. “Oh, I will. Then it’s your turn.”
