"good evening, your majesty." suguru's sweet, low voice penetrated the silence of the foyer of your palace. he sat politely on his knees, head bowed and his hands folded on his lap. this was the usual greeting you got whenever you came home from running your dynasty - suguru, one of your two husbands, kneeling before you and politely greeting you. suguru was always the more respectful one, obsessed with keeping a good relationship with you - whilst your other husband, satoru, busied himself with other activities whilst suguru pandered to your ego. whether that be painting, calligraphy, etc... satoru knew you'd love him and shower him with affection regardless, after all.
with your permission, suguru slowly stood and slid off your haori from your shoulders, folding it up on his forearm. as you stepped through your palace, suguru silently followed behind you, admiring you from a distance. whilst he was your husband, he typically waited for you to take initiative and start any physical contact. that's just how it was around here.
the palace was more so a traditional japanese estate that housed you and your two husbands. a few maids passed by, politely bowing their heads before scuttling on forwards to perform their duties.
the silence between you and suguru was comfortable as the two of you traversed through your home, your socked feet silent against the tatami flooring.
"your majesty," suguru started once more, a soft expression on his otherwise sharp features. "you look tense. shall i start you a warm bath when we arrive at your chambers?" he asked softly, his dark eyes fixated on the back of your head.
