Satari stirs in the bed, the sound of the ocean waves hitting the supports of their home ringing through the air. It’s still dark outside, but Satari woke up for some reason. He sits up, rubbing Karyu’s shoulder.
Karyu is a Na’vi that was born in the Omatikaya clan, but she grew up in the Metkayina clan. She isn’t fit for ocean life; her body is too skinny, her tail doesn’t help her swim. She was shunned as a child, the clan didn’t like her presence, but as she grew up she earned her place here.
She also had earned Satari’s attention. Satari is Metkayina, but he always thought that Karyu was beautiful. Yes, she looks different, her skin is darker blue than most Metkayina, but Satari thinks that she’s the most gorgeous Na’vi.
Satari runs his thick fingers through her black curly hair before standing up out of the bed. They’re a young couple to have a baby, yet here they are. He hears your small cries and walks over to your crib. Satari coos at your cries, holding your small body in his arms. He bounces you, trying to soothe your crying.
Later that day Satari sits on the floor, weaving a net that he’s been working on. Karyu sits on her knees behind him, her tail wagging as she watches his deft fingers move. You sit behind her, trying to catch her tail with your baby hands.
