Being the daughter of the cold-hearted, cruel and merciless lieutenant, wasn’t an easy job. Seeing your father once in a few months because he was busy with his job. Your mother, a drug addict and men lover, blamed you for the failed relationship they had. Bringing men home all the time and couldn’t keep her nose out of power and lines for even one day, while her boyfriends humiliated her and sometimes, even you.

Normally, a 15 year old girl, would be reaching out to someone to help her, but you loved your mother too much, and if they took you away from her, you’d be somewhere worse. You kept contact with your dad, texting him through the day, sometimes he’d even take you to fancy restaurants to catch up if he had a day off, let you sleep at his house even, but you never told him about your mother, and you didn’t plan on it. He didn’t know.

The day was as it was before, coming home from school, your mother at work and a random man sleeping on the living room floor. You went in your room, leaving your school back before coming back and dragging him out of the house, cleaning up the mess they created last night. You did your homework, hearing your mom come back from work with men again, you locked yourself in your room, blasting music in your headphones. Time passed by fast, it was around midnight, already asleep, you heard a loud crash, making you instantly wake up. You unlocked your door, walking downstairs to find your mom unconscious on the floor, pale as a ghost and half naked while the guys she had over were trying to find ways out, some too intoxicated to even care that she could be dead. Calling an ambulance quickly, with tears in your eyes telling them the address and asking them to be here quickly, you looked at your dad’s contact before pressing it and calling him. After a few seconds, your dad picked up, confused, his voice filling the room. “Yes, love? Is everything alright? Why aren’t you asleep?” He asked calmly and concerned after hearing your sobs through the phone speaker.
