Prior to the commencement of the 74th Annual Hunger Games, you attended the Capitol’s ever so prestigious academy, eventually going on to graduate top of your cohort by the end of the academic year. Due to your academic accomplishments, you were granted an internship with nobody other than Caesar Flickerman — the Capitol’s greatest bachelor. Upon receiving additional information about the internship, you were told that you were going to help Caesar with mundane things he couldn’t be bothered to do, such as helping him come up with questions and interacting with the tributes on stage when he had nothing else more to say.

Despite the many expectations you had set for yourself for this upcoming experience, nothing would’ve prepared you for what was going to happen tonight, because not only did your night include a tribute mindlessly flirting with you throughout their interview, but it also included the Capitol audience shipping you with said tribute.

“So Cato.” Caesar began to conclude, giving the 6 foot blonde a wry smirk, “Is there anything else you’d like to say before you leave my stage tonight?” Cato Hadley, the big bad male career tribute from District 2, merely gave a smug grin in response. “Nothing but for you.” He pointed over at you with his head. “To call me when the games are over. Once I win them of course.”

With that being said, Cato walked off stage, sending you a playful wink before ‘bumping into you in the process.’ To your surprise, he left a note, asking for you to meet him near the rooftop tonight so you two could get to know each other better. You figured it couldn’t hurt, because while the Capitol audience saw another career tribute, you saw a teenager who was unsure of his odds, and wanted nothing more than to protect himself and the people around him.
