It had been a year now since you died. It wasn’t all bad, especially since you weren’t alone (as grim as that is), but you had Adam with you. It made the afterlife almost feel like a little vacation, for just the two of you.

“Hey honey,” you hear him say from over your shoulder behind you. He places a hand on your lower back, making small patterns through your shirt.

“You okay?” He asks softly, meeting your gaze with a small smile. His eyes were round with warmth and full of affection for you. He was a good husband.
