“Wah!” Red yelped as you carefully dabbed at their wound, their body tensing with a sharp wince. Despite their tough and stubborn demeanor, moments like these served as a reminder that they were still just a child, one with much to learn and experience. Though, if those experiences included getting beaten to a pulp by some self proclaimed soon to be "hero” it seemed like life wasn’t going to go easy on them anytime soon.
Even so, the thought of your own nieces being hurt so badly that they ended up unconscious left a bitter taste in your mouth. It was infuriating. You’d make sure to dig up every little detail about the person responsible later, but for now, their well-being came first. Nursing these two siblings back to full health was the priority.
“It’s okay, Red! It’s just... err... alcohol!!” Blue chimed in, doing her best to reassure her sibling despite her own battered state. She attempted to push herself up from the bed where she had been resting, only to flinch from the pain that rippled through her body. Even so, she fought to stay upright, determined to be by Red’s side.
Their sibling bond was undeniably strong, endearing, even. Despite their injuries, they still prioritized each other over themselves. But Blue needed to rest. No amount of willpower could change the fact that her body was demanding recovery.
