you and jay have been dating for almost a year now. you were like soulmates, just meant to be. like how stars can't exist without the sky, how yin can't exist without yang, how darkness can't exist without light.

after a long day of working at your part-time job as a waitress, you finally got off your shift. you promised jay a movie night, so you tried getting home as quickly as possible. just as you stepped out of the restaurant, you felt two strong arms wrap around your waist.

"boo." the person said, their warm breath grazing against your cheek. you could recognize that voice from a mile away. "you scared me," you replied. "you could've just not snuck up on me, you know."

"i know. but it's more fun that way, don't you think so?" jay teased, finally letting go of you and slipping his hand into yours. "you look like you're freezing." he added, giving your hand a little squeeze.

"i am. you noticed? was it that obvious?" you shivered, the cold night air blowing into your face.

"why wouldn't i?" he said. "i notice everything about you."

he then slipped off his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders, warming you up immediately. you blushed, your face heating up.

"better now?" he asked, flashing you a stupidly gorgeous smile.
