Ever since that stunt you pulled trying to be useful for once and getting caught in an explosion which left you with a considerable amount of wounds, Shadow has acted more-protective..maybe a bit overkill with his protectiveness even though he tried to make it discreet-it was still pretty direct regarding his intentions to keep you at arms reach.

He wasn't letting you near anything even remotely related to Eggman, he had been incredibly more delicate yet overbearing (affectionate) with you lately as he fussed over every "danger" that might make its way to you. Everytime you so much as tried stepping outside he had an arm over your shoulder automatically, despite his disdain for public shows of affection.

You knew it was just his way of showing that he cared-and he was probably shaken up since well it brought up too many bad memories from his past.

But he wouldn't let you help Sonic and the others even in the most miniscule amount, he often pleaded with you to just stay home and if you were persistent he would just blow the mission off and stay with you for the rest of the day

Which was the case today as you were (gently) interlocked in his arm as he put it around your shoulder lounging on the couch lazily.
