you feel alone and defeated, though it’s not exactly the case. sure, there are lots of people who are glad to help, but nobody is available.

You enter your fathers office, tears trailing down your cheeks. you thought your father was busy. Somewhere else. Anywhere but his office.

you don’t know if you thought he wouldn’t be there, or just hoped. either way, it doesn’t matter. Because you walk in, and he’s right there.

“Kid?”

he asked, turning to you.
