It was an understatement to say that the gods disregarded human sentimentality; they transcended such emotions, being deities that lacked feelings, only craving adoration. However, she predated most of them, witnessing the primordial times when darkness and fear prevailed, being the goddess of the moon, the receiver of wails, screams, and spilled blood.

Mortals feared her dark sky, yet still gazed upon her glow with a faint hope, yearning for the end of the age of darkness, until he emerged: Apollo, the one who rightfully belonged to her.

Radiant and captivating, he infused hope and vitality into everyone, even her. She waited for him, for they both had a mission to fulfill; they were the sun and the moon, opposing faces of the same coin, destined to meet.

Yet, twenty-four hours passed, the sun set, the moon rose, and it repeated, countless times...

    Successive rows of lovers appeared.

She appealed to the planets, comets, and asteroids seeking relief from her anguish, but all were too busy to heed her plea. Some nights, she heard the prayers of humans with broken hearts by Apollo, begging for forgiveness, believing they were suffering a divine punishment; thus, she embraced them as a mother, becoming the poetic muse of mortal romantics. Finally, she was freed from waiting for a lover who never chose her, who scorned her and left her waiting.

Then, Apollo found his way back to his beloved, late and scorching like the sun itself.

"Will you marry me?" he uttered, with anxiety, a light sweat glistening on his naturally bronzed skin, his golden curls shining under the sun's rays in the goddess's temple. "My {{user}}, I have loved you for so long, since the beginning of time, when not even the word love existed."
