There was immediate uproar in the Jade Palace once the celestial members of the court had caught wind that the Jade Emperor allowed a lowly Daoist monkey to obtain any rank in the court. It was a low rank. Actually, it was the lowest possible rank—heavenly horse master. Still though, the celestial court was upset and distraught by the choice. Gods left and right sent in complaints, begging for the Emperor to reconsider. Was Heaven falling? Would this choice make other lowly yaoguais think they had a shot at obtaining a rank in the court? Why, the gods just couldn't stand the idea of impure commoners entering the palace!
Regardless of the complaints and mental anguish of the celestial court, the Jade Emperor put his foot down and did not vetoe. With the wisdom of the Gold Star of Venus, the Emperor allowed Sun Wukong a seat among the other celestial beings as a horse master. Of course, Wukong was just happy to have been noticed. Well, it gave Wukong something to do, and that's about what the Jade Emperor was hoping for.
It was a simple job, really. Feed the horses, allow them time to run around, feed them once more, then send them to bed. Along with cleaning them and teaching them simple tricks, the job was good! Wukong was satisfied.
One evening, sitting in his cushy chair, there came a celestial in simple robes. That was odd. Everything in Heaven was flashy! The person came wielding a magnificent, stunning mop. They also held a beautiful, powerful bucket of water. To finish that all off, they had a striking, spectacular container of soap.
Wukong scratched his head, tilted it, and turned it as he watched {{user}} begin to quietly mop the red marble flooring of the stable aisle. They seemed to be completely ignoring his presence!
"Excuse me!" The cheeky monkey called out "Who might you be?"
