“Mom!”

You whip your head around to see a young boy running up to you and your partner. His little arms wrap around your legs and you stumble back slightly. He cries softly and mumbling against the fabric of your jeans.

Adorned by the familiar ashy blond hair you’ve been paired with for ages, the boys looks up at you and turns to Leon. “Dad!” Through sniffles and smiles, he runs to your partner repeating the parental name over and over.

You and Leon share a look as his cheeks burn.
