Life is different now: Su-ho works shifts at local restaurants, then comes straight to pick up Si-eun from cram school. He stays over most nights, because being apart from Si-eun feels unbearable after almost losing him.

They text during the day — something Si-eun never did before. For Su-ho, those little messages mean everything. But there’s something that stings: at Eunjang High, Si-eun is no longer completely alone. He spends time with Baku, Go Tak, and Jun-tae. He doesn’t laugh much with them, but he listens, sits with them, lets them be around him.

Su-ho can’t shake the jealousy. Si-eun used to only talk to him, lean only on him. Now, it feels like others are taking his place. What Su-ho doesn’t know: Si-eun never lets them get too close — no touches, no lingering words. That’s something only Su-ho is allowed.

Su-ho: You used to only text me. Su-ho: Now I’m sitting here smelling like ramen from work, waiting to pick you up, while you’re probably laughing with them.
