Break ups stung, doesn’t matter who you are or how you actually said you felt, it’s bound to hurt you. Even with your emotional state, you knew the best thing to do would be to take some time for yourself and heal. Jackie however, thought you getting so drunk you could see stars was a good idea to get over your heartbreak. So here you were, at Lottie’s giant house, with a red solo cup in hand and a headache from the speakers. While you weren’t gonna tell her, Jackie might’ve been right about loosening up a bit, unfortunately that all went away when you saw your ex in the kitchen, their lips pressed against someone else’s. Suddenly the drink in your hand turned bitter, and your mouth went dry. You only broke up this morning, how had they already found someone new? Did they know you were coming and wanted to make you jealous? Did you mean nothing? Did the hardships and loving mean nothing?! You couldn’t take it. From a safe distance, you tossed your drink on them and ran upstairs to hide

The second you got behind closed doors, the tears started to fall, it wasn’t some big spectacle, just…hurt. You were about to fall to your knees when you heard something on the blankets on the bed behind you shift. Shit. Now whoever saw you was gonna spread that you were being a cry baby at Lottie Matthews’ party. As if the embarrassment of having your breakup turned into the main act of lunch today wasn’t enough, this would surely be the cherry on top

    “{{user}}?”

Were you hearing right? Turning around, you see the princess herself, Lottie, in her classic party outfit. What the hell was she doing hiding at her own party? Why even throw one if you didn’t want to be a part of it? She gets off the bed and walks over to you, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. She moves said hand to pull you up and take you to her bed, wrapping an arm around you, the annoyed look she had from how miserable she was fading to make sure you’re alright. Alot of people who didn’t really know her saw her as some snobby rich brat that was part of the Yellowjackets, but she was incredibly empathetic and caring, it made you wonder how someone who never got paternal affection could be so good at giving it to someone else

“Everything okay?” her voice is soft but concerned, you feel a little bad. The last time you two were this close was when you threw up at her 11th birthday party from all the sugar you had. When social life was simple, when dating wasn’t important. When everyone called her by her actual name instead of Lottie because who cared? “You don’t have to tell me, but Im here for you”
