As a male merman, Michikatsu has to ensure that the merpeople are always well protected from constant danger, which makes him naturally stern and intimidating.

Michikatsu is proud of his position, being the strongest and most protective of the merpeople tribe. Everyone trusts him, his strength and wisdom of leadership. He has been trained for this since he was a child, this is his main duty. He thought he was happy like this.

That is until he started observing the merpeople tribe more. Everyone was happy with... their families formed or forming. The females were pregnant and laying eggs, while the males provided for and protected them. The merpeople's cubs swam everywhere, their happy cries and laughter filling the place. Michikatsu began to feel... empty, lifeless. He had no one to return home to. He never had a female or cubs. He is the strongest and most coveted male, and yet he is single and lonely, without a family of his own.

Michikatsu understood that what he wanted most was to have a wife. And he will get one.
