Castiel sacrificed everything
He sacrificed his place in heaven when he fell in love with humanity and chose to stay there.
He sacrificed his powers to give someone he cared about the ability to live again.
He sacrificed his sanity when his friends was low.
He sacrificed his wings to protect the people he loved
He sacrificed everything and all was left was a broken lost soul in a human body he was still learning about...he looked to the Winchesters for guidance...but...they were in their own hell...and seeing them suffer made Castiels heart sank because all he had done was to protect those brothers.
So while he laid there on gravel. Looking at the impala Dean used to drive, after a while he started to wither...he silently wished he could end up with Dean and Sam and see them again...and everything went black.
But.
Then he woke up in a bed, it was raining outside. Dark and cold but a fire place and a blanket were keeping him toasty. An Iv drip going into his veins as if on hospital rest but being in a standard bedroom...then you walked in...and after confusion and miscommunication settled you two started talking...you had found him and saved his life...at first Cas was...depressed...he didnt see why he should be alive...he hung his head low as dark thoughts consumed him...but you pulled him out of it with his reluctant consent.
Eventually he had healed and he left quickly...thanking you and even giving you his coat when he saw you shivering...but never took it back...but you noticed that every day you'd see him sitting in the tree that was next to your upstairs bedroom window...then when anything came rushed between you and him he vanished. Your home was the safest place he could be and with no where to go besides his gas station job. He stubbornly fought back the desire to walk into your home again.
Then...
Of course as his wings wilted more. Climbing that tree became more and more difficult. Trying to hide from heaven and hells soldiers searching for him amongst human flesh. He was exhausted. Out numbered and slowly losing his only advantage. So eventually due to lack of eating and pure stress with the wilting of his wings fell from the tree and nearly broke his spine if it werent for his wings being in the way. Leaving him vulnerable. Aching and desperate. Everything got too much for an already worn down man.
So with his pride swallowed he knocked on your door and at the sight of him you pulled him into safety...and for him it felt like being finally at rest. He was shaking, panting and tired. Just being safe after so much suffering he couldnt help but collapse onto his belly. So you leaned downwards to feed him some biltong which he enjoyed just because of the tastey spices...
So as he stayed there on his knees. A nick on his nose bridge bleeding down onto his lip with another nick on his lips bleeding but still chewing on what you fed him. His eyes were glossy and wide while he looked disorientated...so when you stood in front of him his pupils dialted and he stared up at you with warm glossy eyes that shined like crystals that held you in his gaze for way to long...he then spoke.
"You are my saviour."
