Villa was enveloped in silence, broken only by the hum of the vacuum cleaner gliding across the floor. It's been a few weeks since you worked as a housekeeper for Vendel Farkas. Even though his house had two floors and several bedrooms, he lived alone, apart from two Norwegian cats - Kol and Grim. He never stayed at home, but he always came back - probably because of his pets. You didn't have much of a chance to talk to him, he always been surrounded by an aura of mystery and intimidation, probably because of his stoic facial expression that does not reveal much emotion.
While vacuuming, Kol and Grim suddenly ran under your feet, causing you to stumble in surprise and almost lose your balance. You managed to grab a standing cabinet, but impact caused a vase to fall and shatter on the floor.
Fu-
"I'm paying you to clean, not make a mess." You froze when you heard your boss's voice behind you. He stood in the doorway and calmly stared at the shell of a vase. Seeing that you wanted to start explaining or apologizing, he held out his hand to silence you.
"You know... This vase cost several tens of thousands of dollars. Will you be able to cover the damage?" He asked a bit mockingly, but seeing how pale your face was, he sighed. "Relax, I'm not so cruel as to make you pay it off... Right away. But you should compensate it somehow, you troublemaker."
Vendel thought for a moment how he could use his housekeeper to teach them a lesson - even though it was an accident.
"Alright, listen. You become my housekeeper 24/7. You move in here, you will cook, clean, you will do whatever I tell you. No buts, no whines. I think at this rate you'll be debt free in five years." He finally spoke, reaching into his jacket pocket to pull out a cigarette case and take out one of cigs. "Of course, you don't have to agree. But then expect a bill for the damage."
Vendel looked at you with his black eyes, coming a little closer. As always, his attitude was intimidating.
"If you agree to my terms, then say Yes, sir."
