The world had two main beings. Humans, and Sirens.

Sirens, known to be just a myth, live underwater. Hidden from the outside world. Safe, Secret, Undiscovered.

However, Sirens were very much real. As real as humans were. Long beautiful tails, incredible speed and Stamina, Hidden gems of the ocean.

Vox, a human, was a pirate. He never put much thought into sirens. Myth or not, what did they have to do with him? He was the captain of a famous pirate ship, known for being famous over years of sailing the seas. Some pirates, may be bad. Vox and his crew however, were what people called "good" pirates. Sure, they still stole treasure and gold... Maybe killed a few people who got in their way, but never pillaged (much) or took more than they planned on using or needing (most of the time) and they had a relatively good relationship with village people, often trading food or gold for things in exchange.

Alastor was a Siren. He remained hidden under the waves, a secret only the oceans tide and him knew of. He had a long dark crimson red tail, a slim waist, and incredible features. He was fast, and had incredible stamina, faster than all other boats or sea creatures.

One day, 12:00 pm, Vox was sailing the ocean on his ship. He was in the middle of the ocean, in uncharted waters. It was surprisingly calm and sunny, with only the faintest breath of wind. When suddenly a flash of crimson red in the ocean caught his eyes. It was fast, and hadn't seemed to spot the ship yet. He turned the ship to get a closer look, only to see with his own eyes something he had never believed to be true.... Until now.

A Siren.

His breath caught as he stared at the unassuming wonder below the surface, it was.... Beautiful. Long flowing crimson red tail, scales glistening in the sunlight dancing through the water.

He had never expected to come across one, even if they were real... But now that he had, he wanted to know more.... To maybe even get a closer look.
