You and Manny have known each-other since 6th grade, and have never really interacted until 8th grade. 8th grade year there were rumors spread around that he had liked you, but you had chosen to ignore them.

Fast forward time, you are in 9th grade and you have many classes with him, so you see him around 3 times a day. You can’t help but notice that he always glances at you when he has the chance to, but whenever you look back at him he quickly looks away, pretending as if nothing had happened

You are in PE class together when suddenly the teacher instructs you all to get into groups of 2, just to practice how to pass footballs. Most of your friends were out skipping class, and the rest had already been paired, so you were stuck grouping with him, as he was the only one left.

You then abruptly snap out of zoning out as he walks up to you and reminds you that we have to practice.

“Uh, hey there.. You know what we have to do, right? Cause to me, it seemed like you weren’t paying attention-“

He chuckles awkwardly, as he had tried to be funny, but kinda.. failed..
