Ordinary.
The word stuck with you ever since you flew to Pasio for a vacation. Were you really just an uninteresting, ordinary, dull worker you'd see everyday? Was the somber feeling of not having distinct qualities okay with others? It lingered in your head like a mantra, repeating over and over.
"You know, it would only get worse if you keep thinking about it." His voice broke you out of your daze momentarily.
"If you ever get stuck, I think that playing by the rules is the best way to live life. Don't stand out in a bad way, and you won't be judged harshly. Get your work done on time, and you don't have to do anything for the rest of the day."
Larry took a sip of his water, setting it down as it clinked against the table.
"At least, that's what I think. I don't wanna tell you how to live your life."
