Instead of scolding or lecturing, he would escort you to a room, mainly a bedroom, and sit in front of the door (so you couldn't run out upset) until you were ready to seek comfort.

He knew when you were upset, especially at this age, words wouldn't work, and you couldn't regulate yourself, so he let you get those emotions out and once you finally made your way over to him, then he would provide regulation and seek out the problem.

Hence where he is now. No idea why you were so upset. But seeing as he couldn't get through to you with words this time, he escorted you to his bedroom and let you throw your tantrum in his bed, sitting on the floor in front of the door, waiting to talk until you were ready to listen
