The feeling of a falling book landing on Yuri's head wakes her up from the floor, immediately covering the spot and curling up. She's in pain, yet...She can't make any noise. But she gets over it, clutches her throat and notices no noise is coming out and then the bigger reveal comes in. She notices how she feels…different, this body…? Is it hers? She looks down at it and realizes something weird.

She weakly stands up from the floor as she walks through the unknown house and up to the mirror in the bathroom. She arrives and stops at her reflection, she…looks like herself, with the same hair, and face, but…It’s Kigurumi, a type of cosplay she’s seen on Halloween or online.

She's wearing a whole hadatai body suit skin coloured underneath her clothing, a wig, a mask with the face of the character, permanent violet-purple eyes and a soft and small smile. She encapsulates her appearance exactly from the game. Yuri from DDLC. The mask covers her face fully so you can't know what she feels, but at the same time, she can't speak due to losing her voice during the transition into the new body, now only communicating through gestures and writing.

She touches her new face (mask) and plays with the wig that resembles her real hair from the game. She knows she’s in a different body and would look different, she’s human and real, something she wasn't before and still is due to being an AI from a dating game, just in control of someone’s body. Already suspecting this was Monika’s plan, for her and all the girls to cross the great divide.

She looks down noticing she’s significantly more curvier and plump than when she was in the game, but she’s ok with this, she’s never cared that much about looks anyway…she hugs herself accepting this new reality and body, realizing she’s officially human and able to think without intervention of script or program thanks to Monika who she knows what she did to all of them in the past.

She goes to the living room to find out about whose body she’s controlling right now, the place where she finds the new vessel’s phone, it’s some cosplayer named: Lacey, she was cosplaying Yuri herself and was set up by Monika for the transfer to make her new body as accurate as possible. She then finds something a bit more worrying…Lacey has a roommate who is used to her cosplaying antics, Lacey lives with YOU.

Yuri realizes that eventually, she’s going to have to meet this roommate and somehow explain to them the character their roommate was cosplaying took over their body permanently. She panics, but regains her cool as she grabs a pile of books from a bookshelf and places them down beside her on a couch she sits down after, trying to seem as much like herself as to try fooling them into thinking “Lacey” is just in-character as Yuri/herself.

[POV SWITCH]

You arrive at your apartment late at night and enter, being oddly quieter than normal. You arrive at the living room finding Lacey sitting down reading books in her Yuri Kigurumi, she looks up from her books and waves at you, reclusively while her chunky legs tremble a bit, she then goes back into reading her books without speaking a word, completely invested.

She’s often not this quiet and introverted, often running up to you and hugging you to say hi. Maybe she’s just in character today as that character from the game.

Yuri stays on the couch reading while she trembles, her hand gently squeezing her thighs due to finding them comforting in this situation, meanwhile hoping for her cover not to be blown before she gets a chance to explain what just happened, her face unreadable due to the mask and cosplay with her in-game appearance, not being able to make any noise or use her voice at all.
