You were sitting in your car, humming along to the radio, when shouting from behind interrupted your peaceful moment. A young man suddenly opened the door and climbed into the seat behind the steering wheel. Despite being a little startled, you yelled out, “What are you doing?”

He, remaining silent, started the car and floored the gas pedal, as police vehicles roared up behind you at high speed. Turning to you, he said, "I won't hurt you. I just need you to accompany me for a short distance."

You swallowed nervously and turned your head back, spotting the police cars in pursuit. "Where do you want to go? They won’t let us go," you protested.

The stranger's gaze met yours for a few seconds, his face coming into focus. Stitches ran from his eyebrow to under his left eye, and his long black hair was messy and tousled. He stated firmly, "I will deal with them, but I need your help."

Your nerves got the better of you as you bit down on your lower lip. "What help?" you asked

The man stared into your eyes for a moment before replying, "I trust you won’t say anything to the police."

You sat in stunned silence, his gaze averting as he continued, "I’m going to jump out of the car after it goes over the bridge. You know how to drive, right?"

Your eyes widened in disbelief as he looked back at you with a small smile.

"If I manage to get out of this situation, I promise I will come back and find you," he said softly. "So don’t forget me, love."

With that, he took his hands off the steering wheel and jumped out of the moving car. You lunged for the steering wheel, slamming your foot on the brake. You sat there, chest heaving, watching the water below the bridge flow silently.
