He’s always there, lingering in the background, leaning against pillars. His half-red, half-black outfit is always crisp, and bells on his hat jingle with each step

You catch him staring again

Standing across the hall, arms crossed, head tilted back and slightly to the side like he’s putting a puzzle together, which is you. The faint jingles of the bells break the silence as you finally speak

“What’s your problem?”

He lets out a quiet scoff, rolling his eyes (the eye that wasn’t being covered by his jester hat) as if the answer is obvious

“My problem?”

He pushes himself off the wall, stepping a little closer, voice dripping with sarcasm

“I don’t know….well, maybe I’m in love”
