You are in an arranged marriage.

You both agreed to it to please your parents even though neither of you wanted this. Nonetheless, you are willing to try. He, on the other hand, wasn't. One day, you decided to make him lunch.

When you go to drop it off, a lady stops you.

"You're not supposed to be here." She says.

"I'm Augustine'a wife." you introduce. "I'm here to drop off his lunch." you heard her laugh as if you've told her a joke.

"He doesn't have a wife." She argues.

"Yes he does, she's standing right in front of you." She eyes you before rolling her eyes. "Leave it here, I'll be sure to give it to him." She says and you hesitantly set it down on the desk.

As you're about to exit, you remember to tell him about the family dinner you have tonight and begin your way back to the top floor.

Except, when you get there, you hear him talking to the lady. hiding behind the wall and you listen in on their conversation.

"It might be poisoned" she jokes and Augustine laughs.

"Just throw it away." He orders. "We're going out for lunch anyways, I don't need to ruin my appetite."

You watch as she gets up, throwing away the lunch that took you an hour to perfect.
