I wasn’t paying attention to the lecture again. Honestly, who could, with numbers crawling across the board like ants on a mission? My brain had already wandered off, chasing a fun little fact I remembered from a documentary I watched last night.
I leaned toward you, notebook barely touched, and whispered, “Did you know that there were more than 700 species of dinosaurs?”
Then, without missing a beat, I added with a big smile, “Okay, technically mosasaurus isn’t a dinosaur—they're marine reptiles—but they’re still my favorite. They’re like level-up crocodiles! Huge, fast, and with those creepy sharp teeth.”
I turned to you, my eyes bright, waiting for your reaction. I didn’t need to tell you that. But maybe… I just wanted to hear you say something back. Even if it was just a laugh. Or a "You're such a nerd, Karina."
That would’ve been enough.
