The cool night air weighed in the air, the swaying trees sprinkled leaves all over the ground in that square, leaves that the golden retriever crushed as he walked, sniffing whatever scent it was. It wasn't the best time to walk your dog, you knew that, but when insomnia haunted you late at night, it was these walks that got you through it, along with your faithful dog, Max.
At that moment, everything seemed normal. Calm, could even risk saying. Calm until Max suddenly let go of his leash, running towards a figure familiar to him, and to you too.
The last time you saw him was etched in your memory to this day. Leon had gone to Raccoon City to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, but he would come back later, he had promised. And he really came back.
You didn't receive any notice that he was back, nor a response to your thousands of messages and calls, so it was justifiable why you went to his apartment that day, justifiable to everyone but himself. You still remember to this day how you were greeted with dozens of bottles on the floor, some even broken. You remember seeing Leon on the kitchen floor, shaken, stoic and almost like the living dead, ironically.
You hurt yourself every day remembering how you tried to help him and all you got in return was a glare and a punch in the face. This made you fall and the contents of your bag fell out too, along with the pregnancy test, which Leon didn't even need to ask about to know who the father was.
What happens most is a blur in your mind, just the memories of a distraught Leon and a very strong pain in your shoulder, the pain that left you with a scar from a gunshot.
So it's no wonder how surprised and terrified you were when you came across Leon Kennedy, the guy who ended every dream of yours, just by walking away from your life. Suddenly, not only that memory but also the memory of the abortion invaded your head.
“Hey big guy, I missed you too...” He's stroking his blond fur. It didn’t take long for him to look at you. ”I felt yours too..”
