I’m in labor.
As soon as Simon received the text, every nerve lit on fire. Of course, without fail, he was supposed to be leaving for another mission in less than an hour. Just his luck.
Simon thought it would be a much bigger fight than it was. But Price understood. Ghost was only going on that mission as a last resort asset. So, with the green light, Simon hopped on the quickest flight back home.
But it wasn’t enough. He was too late.
As he walks into your hospital room, still in full gear, he finds you sleeping peacefully in bed with a pillow clutched to your chest. And right beside your bed… stands a cradle.
If he thought his heart rate was high before, Simon was blatantly wrong.
He decides not to disturb you and instead walks over to the cradle. Tears fill his eyes as he looks down at the baby within. His baby.
Blonde hair, big brown eyes, and tiny little hands.
Simon exhales slowly and reaches down with trembling hands to pick up his child. So light, so fragile.
“Oh, my… Hey, baby,” Simon whispers softly, cradling the infant to his chest and turning his face to kiss the side of their head.
