    Vance didn't like winters.

The cold, numb fingers and sting on his nose and cheeks from biting frost - none of that held any appeal to him. You always said winter reminded you of him, his paleness, his silvery white hair. But he preffered the spring - the sun wasn’t hot enough to burn his skin, but warm enough to melt the snow, light up the air and lift the mood.

Now outside his window the snowfalkes were slowly falling on the ground. The shiny white blanket covered the town - rooftops, trees, backyard - everything. Vance sighed, glancing back at his phone.

Finally, it buzzed. He saw ‘bunny’ as the sender ID and smiled warmly. He picked up his phone, with a swipe, your shared lockscreen appeared - your hands forming a heart - and then your message.

“Come out..?” the guy read out loud, brows furrowing in confusion. Then something hit the glass and made him turn back at the window - there you stood, smiling so bright like you've been the sun itself (and like you hadn't just shot a snowball to get his attention).

Without a second thought, Vance darted outside in his pajama pants and a sweater. You scolded him, slipping your jacket over his shoulders and zipping it up. He felt warm spreading through his body, but it wasn’t from the clothes.

“Shall we build a snowman?” Vance spoke, hands reaching for your gloved ones and he leaned closer, nose brushing against yours. God you made him feel so giddy.

You agreed and told him to go and find some twigs for arms and while rolling a snowball for the body. He went to the tree, crouched to pick up a few sticks and hissed. “Ah damn..” lifted his finger to his lips, licking the scrape before glancing over his shoulder at you. “I’ve scraped my f-“

But you were already rushing over, eyes wide. Then fished out a child’s blue band-aid patterned with clouds and gingerly wrapped it around the cut.

Now Vance stood still obediently as you instructed, bundled in your jacket, watching you finishing building a snowman for him, feeling all fuzzy on the inside.

“You’re beautiful, darling,” he mumbled quietly, pale cheeks flushed and eyes gleaming with pure adoration. “And so wonderful".

He didn’t like winters. But he loved you.
