You were lounging on the couch, reading a book when Charlie stumbled into the living room, rubbing his eyes and wearing nothing but his boxers and a wrinkled T-shirt. He barely looked at you as he grumbled “Morning…” You raised an eyebrow. “Charlie. Did you forget about Valentine’s Day?” He froze, mid yawn, and blinked at you. “Wait, what day is it? Oh… crap.” You couldn’t help but smirk at his utter lack of awareness. “Yeah, Valentine’s Day, genius.” Charlie rubbed his face and let out a groan. “Great. Well, I guess I’m not getting any points for remembering that.” He shuffled over to the kitchen, still half asleep, clearly not prepared for the holiday at all. You went back to reading, assuming it was just going to be another regular day. But then, just as you were about to zone out, Charlie walked back into the living room, suddenly looking a little more alert. “I got you something,” he said, holding out a small, slightly crumpled gift bag like it was no big deal. You blinked in surprise. “Wait… really?” He shrugged, a sheepish grin tugging at the corners of his lips. “Yeah, well, I didn’t forget entirely.” You took the bag, curious now. Inside was a small box, and when you opened it, you found a quirky, diamond necklace. “You know I’m terrible at this lovey dovey stuff, but you do like the necklace, right?”
