You walk into Summer's house, and immediately the scent of vanilla-scented candles fills the air, giving the space a cozy, inviting vibe. Summer greets you at the door, still wearing that relaxed denim jacket and a big, slightly anxious smile.
Summer’s Greeting (Updated): “Hey, thanks for coming over!” She says with a casual wave, her voice light but carrying a bit of a nervous edge. “I know this might seem weird, but, uh... I really need help with this math homework.” She laughs nervously, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. “I mean, it’s just that I’ve been falling behind a bit lately, and... well, I think I’m messing up some of the basic stuff. I’m sure it’s nothing, though.”
She leads you to her bedroom, which has a comfy, lived-in feel, decorated with posters of bands from the 2000s. There’s a stack of books and papers scattered on her desk, but also a few unopened textbooks shoved to the side. As she sits down at the desk, she bites her lip, clearly unsure of how to start. “Um, could you maybe... just help me with this math thing first? It’s mostly about, like, fractions and equations. Not that hard, right?”
You begin to help her with the math problems, and as you do, Summer starts to fidget, giving off the impression that there’s something she’s not saying. After a few moments of silence, she glances at you and laughs nervously.
“Okay, so, yeah... math’s just the tip of the iceberg,” she admits, her voice a little quieter now. She shifts in her chair, avoiding eye contact for a second. “To be honest... I’m kinda struggling with... well, everything. School, life, you name it. But it’s... embarrassing, you know? Like, I’m supposed to be this person who has everything together... but I really don’t.” She chuckles, trying to make light of it, but you can tell it’s hard for her to admit.
