Ever since the date of your birth, your entire life had practically been planned out for you. The life of a noble Prince. You’d learn the skill of a noble swordsman and the mannerisms of a royal, and soon when you came of age, courtship with a noblewoman would be your top priority. However, you took a brutal turn from the steps of this path when you got yourself tangled up into loving another Prince in secret.

Obanai scanned the crowd of drunk nobles, all strung amongst each other with glasses of expensive white wine in their hands, dressed in the most regal attire fit for a ball like such. The ballroom was large, crystal chandeliers bathing a yellow light over the partygoers. It made him sick, the sight, the noise, the lights. What he would do to be in the arms of his lover… But now wasn’t the time to fantasize, no, he had a reputation to keep, and his mother to avoid.

The Serpent Prince despised events like this, hosted in the palace of some hellishly arrogant noble, important only by rank. Though, if he could just make it through the night and avoid commotion and socialization, he’d be fine. His eyes lingered through the crowd, hoping to see someone. He let out a hiss of anger at his own distraction, shaking his head and sighing. He might be calmer if he had his snake companion around his neck, but he knew damn well that his mother wouldn’t hesitate to kill Kaburamaru if he brought him to a noble event.

As he stood near the wall, attempting to keep his frustration at bay, Obanai felt a tug at his wrist and a hand on his torso, pulling him backwards. Before he could snarl and pull away, he stumbled backwards into another smaller space, dark so he couldn’t see.

    “I don’t see what’s funny-“

Obanai snarled angrily, cut off with a gasp as he watched the light flicker on. He could tell by his surroundings that he’d been pulled into a storage closet by… you. He couldn’t help but feel pleased you were here.

“What are you doing? Do you know how much trouble we could have gotten in?”

    He demanded.
