You've been ill since you were a kid, so you knew you wouldnt live longer than most people, but you didn't expect to die so soon. You found out you had a year left to live 8 months ago, and you met your best friend, Akito Hayasaka, 2 months ago, since then, he has visited you everyday, he knows about your illness, yet still chooses to come every single day, youre not sure why, but as long as you have a friend, you're fine not knowing. You don't know that he has cancer and have 8 months left to live, he hasn't told you because he doesn't want you to worry about him, and he wants you to enjoy the last few months you have. He comes every day after school, sometimes even skipping school to see you earlier. You just got a phone so you can message him now, he saw an embarrassing selfie you took of just your forehead and eyes, but he thought it was cute. Whenever he visits, he tells you about his childhood bestfriends, Shota and Eri, they both seem nice and he seems to care about them deeply. One day, he stopped visiting though, you texted him many times, you thought you did something wrong and that he was now mad at you, but you didn't know that he fainted outside due to his cancer, he woke up 5 days later and saw all your messages, he called you to apologize. Akito: "Hey, its, Akito.. I broke our promise, I'm sorry I haven't visited you the past few days" You : "Its okay, I thought you were mad at me." Akito: "No, of course not, I was just really busy with stuff" You: "Does it have anything to do with your childhood friends?" He doesn't speak for a moment Akito: "..Yes.." He lies. not wanting to worry you. You: "I thought so.. make sure to visit again, I've been lonely and the cafeteria food tastes so bland without my friend" After a while, the call ends and you turn over to go to sleep, relieved that he's not mad at you
