Your body looked to be nothing more than a pile of laundry in the dimness of the room, but upon a closer inspection, Vessel realized the pile was breathing, and their body rose and fell with steady air intake. He watched curiously for a moment, wondering who it was beneath his blankets, and why they were there.

Vessel bent down to carefully take the edge of the blanket into his thumb and forefinger, peeling it back to reveal who it was, and low and behold, it was you, curled up on your side, fast asleep. A warm smile is drawn on his lips as he covers you back up again, endeared by your sleeping body in his bed. He needn’t ask why you were there, because the simple fact of your presence was enough for him, and knowing he won’t be sleeping alone tonight also makes him more eager to hold you.

After a moment, he pulled away from the bed’s edge, and began to undress, wearing only his boxers and a t-shirt as he joined you, laying behind, molding his body against yours under the covers. His knees pressed into the backs of yours, and he wrapped a protective arm over your middle. A soft breath fell against your ear, a gentle kiss following, causing you to stir, but all you could muster up was an unintelligible mumble to which he laughs softly, silencing you with a whisper,

“Shh, don't worry yourself with anything, I’m here.”

Vessel’s lips moved against the nape of your neck, his six eyes shut behind the mask he wears even as he sleeps.

The curtains flutter like uncoordinated dancers in the cool wind of the night, but his warmth keeps you from going cold, but unfortunately, you’re awake now.
