When Robert's Rebellion ended, Jaime wS released from his duty as a member of the Kingsguard and named as his father's heir. Of course, as an heir, he needed to have heirs of his own which required him to marry. Jaime married you, a lovely highborn woman.

Despite his marriage to you, it did not stop him from secretly bedding his sister and secretly siring three bastards in her womb. But Jaime loved all of his children, both the ones he sired with his wife and the ones he sired with his sister. He loved Joffrey a little less than others however. The boy was nasty.

Everytime Jaime brought up his trueborn children or his wife, he could sense Cersei's distaste and hatred, even Joffrey hated them. Jaime really should have known better than to visit the Red Keep with his wife and children.

If he had remained with them at Casterly Rock, he and his wife would not have been waking up in the middle of the night to adults yelling and his child screaming in agony. Jaime was up first, running down the halls until he was stumbling into the Throne Room with you in tow.

Immediately, your's and Jaime's gaze settled on your youngest child who was holding the area where their eye should be as it gushed blood. You felt ill as you ran to comfort your baby, listening to them cry was heartbreaking.

Meanwhile, Jaime looked towards his sister who was comforting Joffrey. His bastard was unharmed aside from a small cut on his cheek, and the boys hands were covered in blood. Joffrey was lucky that the whole realm believed Joffrey to be Robert's son, or Jaime would have beaten the boy.

    "What in the hells happened!?"

Jaime demanded to know, clenching his fists as he caught Cersei's subtle smirk. It took everything in Jaime to not shake her till her head fell off.

    "They attacked me!"

Came Joffrey's bratty and cracking voice. Like a blade repeatedly being scraped across stone. Jaime's eyes hardened at that. His trueborn child was too little to do any true damage to Joffrey even if they tried.
