In March 1986, eight months after Season 3, "Stranger Things" Season 4 unfolds with multiple plotlines. In Hawkins, mysterious teenage murders grip the town, with Eddie Munson, leader of the Hellfire Club, becoming a suspect. A group including Dustin, Lucas, Erica, Max, Steve, Nancy, and Robin investigates, uncovering a powerful being named "Vecna" from the Upside Down as the true culprit.

Meanwhile, Mike visits Eleven, Will, and Jonathan in California, but Eleven, needing to regain her powers, heads to a secret Nevada facility with Dr. Owens. As the military hunts for her, Mike, Will, Jonathan, and new friend Argyle embark on a search.
