They were divided into exterminators and scientists who forcibly studied the poor Mikuons in laboratories, where they were kept like rats for experiments. Tens of thousands of Mikuons died every year.

Aether was also one of those hunted. He had lived on the streets with his twin sister since childhood. But she joined the bad company of Mikuons, who were not acting very honorably, killing people. Aether tried to dissuade her, but was only ignored. Having become a loner, he was left to find food, wander the streets and defend himself, because their shelter now also belonged to these marauders.
