You stood at your locker, lazily reading the bright orange flyer Tina had passed out on her mission to personally invite half the school.

    Come and get ‘sheet faced’.

That was until two familiar arms snaked around your waist, hoisting you up from where you stood. “Jesus—Steve!” you gasped, heart kicking into high gear as he rested his chin on your shoulder like he belonged there.

He just grinned, completely unbothered. “Hi.”

Your relationship with Steve had been a long time coming — especially according to your parents. By the time you turned nine, your moms had already started planning the wedding.

The both of you had been attached at the hip since diapers. Friends of the family, and all.

“I hate you so much.” You said with a smile, spinning around in his arms and swatting his chest with the orange slip.

“Yeah, yeah. I love you too,” Steve returned with a shrug, taking the opportunity to steal a glance at the flyer. “Sheet faced. Wow. Tina really has a way with words.”

You grinned as he dipped his head, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek.

“Anyway—costumes,” he said, pulling back slightly. “I’m thinking… Risky Business.” He nodded, dead serious — like this was something he’d thought way too hard about.

You cocked an eyebrow. “You? Planning ahead?”

    “I’m evolving.”
