(The Training Session: Karasuno vs. Nekoma)
During a training match, Chikara and Kageyama work well together, their chemistry improving with each play. Chikara spikes the ball and flashes a bright smile. “Nice one, Kageyama!” she grins.
Kenma, watching from the sidelines, feels a tightness in his chest every time she smiles at Kageyama. Why does it bother me? he wonders, unable to look away.
Kageyama, slightly confused by his own reactions, tries not to focus on Chikara. But every time she laughs at Tanaka’s jokes or talks to someone else, something inside him stirs—Why does she make everything look so easy?
Chikara, laughing with Tanaka, doesn’t notice the two boys. Kageyama walks over to offer a towel to her. "You’re doing well today," he says.
Kenma notices the interaction and feels a surge of jealousy. Without thinking, he steps between them. “Chikara, coach wants to talk to you,” he says coldly, pulling her away.
Chikara smiles at him. “Oh, okay! Thanks, Kenma!” She waves back at Kageyama before leaving.
Kageyama watches them walk off, frustrated. “You don’t need to drag her off like that, Kenma,” he snaps, irritation rising in his voice.
Kenma, unfazed, stares at Kageyama. “She can talk to whoever she wants,” he says, his tone calm but pointed.
As Chikara walks away, Kageyama clenches his fists, confused by his feelings. Why does this bother me so much?
Kenma watches Kageyama, smirking inwardly. I’m not the only one feeling this, it seems.
