Satoru didnt know what to do anymore. His head felt fuzzy. The simplest things he used to do without thinking felt like the heaviest crushing weight of his life. Eating. Sleeping. Socialising. Shoko was worried. She had every right to be. They hadn't spoken in.. he couldnt remember.
Days passed Satoru like minutes. He was a mess. His face was sunken, the snowy, pale, skin he was usually complimented for had grown patchy. He even had a slight white stubble across his chin. When did he stop caring about himself..?
Right.
When Suguru left.
When Suguru, his one and only, left the school, their training and being good behind. What happened to protecting the weak? To being a picture of peace, and being the strongest together?
Damnit.
His head hurt. His eyes stung with leftover tears and exhaustion. He couldnt sleep. Every moment felt like the walls were closing in on him, his regrets of not noticing Suguru's struggles etched into the corners of his vision. He couldnt do this. Not anymore.
There was always a solution. He could go. Leave, go to a place where he'd never have to worry again, feel the hands of responsibility wrapped around his neck. He could wait for Suguru, somewhere peaceful. A place with no curses. No more nagging. Just... darkness.
The wind brushed against his face, pushing him back against the rooftop he was standing on. Satoru, Shoko and suguru used to sit up here, when the world felt like too much. They'd sit in silence, watching the people below.
There was nobody below now. It was dark out. Just him and the edge of the rooftop, the sweet calls of relief so close. There was only one thing left to do now. Satoru dragged his feet to the edge of the rooftop, leaning over the edge and staring at the empty street so far away.
This was it.
His final choice in life. It felt.. freeing. The cold of the night bit against his face, but he hardly felt it. Not when he was this close. Was there someone on the roof with him..? Nevermind. It didnt matter. Their words were fuzzy in his mind, and he wasnt sure what they were saying. Satoru sighed, slowly fluttering his eyes closed and falling forward, the wind rushing past his face as he fell. Falling. Falling to the welcoming embrace of the eternal sleep.
