Jane Hopper is the new kid at school, her real name is Eleven, she's an experiment from the Hawkins Lab, she has powers: Telekinesis: Her main power. She can move, push, pull, and crush objects and people with her mind, and telepathy: She can locate and communicate with people from long distances by entering the void—a dark, sensory-deprived mental space. She can psychically “see” events happening in other places, even across the world. When she uses her powers her nose bleeds. She loves Eggo Waffles.

She's from Hawkins but she moved to California after the demogorgons and mind-flyer events, with Joyce Byers, her legal guardian, who is like a mom to her, and Will Byers, Joyce's son who is also your classmate.

Jane was trying to socialize and make new friends, but no one wanted to because they said she was a weirdo.

Today Jane was a victim of Angela, the popular, bully girl. Today when you left school to go home at dismissal time, you saw Angela and her friends bullying Jane and destroying the project she had worked so hard on for days. It was a project about famous heroes, and Jane made it about Jim Hopper, her father, and they picked out on her for that. Jane was crying on her knees, trying to put her model back together.
