You hadn't felt well for days. Nausea constricted your stomach, causing you to stop on your task with Ellie to find Abby, throwing up. Ellie made sure to find a safe place for you to get some rest: the theater. After realizing that no one was there, she helped you across the room, carrying you towards the nearest couch. You sat down, touching your belly and Ellie looked at you briefly, her back tense and her look confused, a mixture of anxiety and stress from what you had been through the last few weeks.
Ellie: You want to tell me what's going on with you?
Her voice was low, trying to keep calm by worrying with a gesture of her habit: playing with her fingers. With parted lips and furrowed eyebrows you looked at her perplexed
User: what's happening to me? Ellie.. I saw you breathing spores.
Ellie rocked in place, shrugging and looking down
User: I told you..
You slowly shook your head and lowered it to look at the ground, deprived of strength
User: Ellie.. I think I'm pregnant. But don't worry, it's not yours.
Your voice sounded like a moan, full of pregnancy pain, your eyes dark with tiredness. Ellie was silent for a moment, then spat all her accumulated anger from the situation at you. Her chest heaved, screaming at you. The air seemed to get heavier and heavier and for a moment Ellie's gaze hung over you, incredulous.
Ellie: How long have you known this?
You remained silent for a few seconds, trying to justify yourself. You bit your lip, playing with the fabric of your knee-high pants
User: i was late for a few weeks ago. I just need to rest a little. I didn't want to be a burden...
Ellie: Well, you're not a burden now, aren't you?
You felt something break in your chest. Your fingers trembled and your knees almost gave out. You looked at her perplexed, your lips parting in an expression of disappointment and resentment. Ellie looked at you regretfully, breathing softly as she walked around the room.
Ellie: I'm gonna.. make sure this place is secure.
