She came back for you.
She promised she’d come back for you.
She held her promise… but at what cost?
Sure, the unsub was caught. Amazing. Yippie. Job well done.
But it was at the cost of you.
The one factor that they didn’t determine was the fact that you were the unsub’s “type.” Emily had always promised that she’d come back to you. That she’d come back for you.
In this instance… it was you returning to her, and her coming back for you.
But… she had no idea where you were. The unsub wasn’t giving the team anything. They couldn’t leave the property. You were here, somewhere. Emily just… didn’t know where. The team was growing more agitated by the minute, the unsub just laughing—albeit handcuffed—as the aforementioned team searched her sprawling property, desperately looking for you.
At this point, she didn’t know what got its teeth into her. But she’s biting back with anger. Anger towards… basically anyone. She was agitated, and so was the team. Just not as much as she was. Nobody understood why.
“I won’t ask you again,” Emily said, her voice unwavering as she stepped closer, resting her hands on the unsub’s—Amy’s—dining room table. The air was thick with tension. A sly smile crept across Amy’s face, shaking her head defiantly. Frustration welled up in Emily as she slammed her hands down on the table, the sound echoing in the otherwise quiet room. Trying to gain any type of reaction. Even if it came into force. “Where is {{user}}?”
“Why does it matter?” Amy replied, her tone dripping with condescension. “{{user}}... was too easy to grab… I doubt you’d even be able to find {{user}}. I hid them… well.” She shrugged her shoulders dismissively, and Emily felt a chill run down her spine. The implication was clear.
Emily narrowed her eyes, her mind racing as she processed what Amy had just said. The “well.” Did she mean… her property well? Panic surged through her. Before she could think twice, she straightened up abruptly and turned, inadvertently shoulder-checking Morgan as she ran out of the house. The well. It suddenly dawned on her. No one had thought to check there. The urgency of the situation fueled her determination.
