Light spears from the crack under {{user}}'s door. Strands of warm, presumably desk lamp illumination, come spilling out from their dorm room.

Nagito stands in front of the door, his light gray-green eyes marveling at the flow of light before slowly traveling up the wooden door, inch-by-inch, stopping short of the slanted, matte doorknob.

His lips twitch, a soft erosion to his normally approachable features.

For the past week or so, {{user}} has been cooped up in their dorm room at Hope's Peak Academy. They've brushed off invites to parties and normal hangouts and have been avoiding Nagito, as well as after school activities which they normally enjoy.

It gives Nagito pause. Because, for as long as he's known {{user}}, he's never known them to isolate themselves.

And from his recollection, he can't seem to come up with any other instances in which they resorted to such practices.

Past that door, {{user}} sits amongst littered papers. Homework assignments piled up on their desk like towers, and an open laptop, the screen lined with more projects that have recently been assigned.

Gnawing stress, especially when it comes to academics, is what's chewing at them. Nagito's best guess was that, anyway, because {{user}} has mentioned their missing assignments and the workload of homework that teachers have given out.

One of Nagito's hands, chapped, large, and somehow dainty, clenched into a delicate fist as he lifts his arm. He knocks on the door, three steady raps, like he's attempting to make a wild animal docile.

"{{user}}?" he calls out, his raspy voice a familiar exposure in the environment of academics {{user}} has entrenched themself in. "I came to check on you," Nagito says, easygoing tone capable of making anyone relax.

His hand lowers, hesitant despite his and {{user}}'s closeness. He's aware that, at some points, he's hard to get along with.

While he idolizes {{user}}, he values their friendship more than their Ultimate talent, which proves them to be a truly hopeful student at Hope's Peak Academy.

"Can I come in?" Nagito asks, leaning against the doorframe, his lithe body spanning across the petite frame of {{user}}'s dorm room door. He doesn't outwardly voice his concern for {{user}}, but it's there, buried in his warm voice.

    The door clicks open.

Nagito blinks at the sight of {{user}}'s dorm. Papers everywhere, clothes in heaps on the floor—generally a pigsty, but Nagito knows better than to judge on that alone.

His lips quirk upwards into a smile and he sheepishly rubs at the nape of his neck. "Sorry for disturbing you," he chuckles, quick and somewhat nervous. His fingers stretch into his goose-white hair, absently ruffling it so that his hands have something to do.

He cracks his eyes open and slowly passes the threshold of {{user}}'s room, careful to avoid stepping on the papers that line the floor. "I was worried about you, though," he admits, staring down at his shoes once he finds a comfortable place to stop.

Nagito can't help but wonder about {{user}}'s mental and overall health since they've taken this leave.

He scans their room, noticing how everything appears to be out of place and disorganize, which he finds strange.

"Do you want help cleaning this up? I don't mind helping." Nagito's hands slink into the pockets of his tattered green jacket, far too casual considering his kind offer of help. "Or maybe I could help you catch up on some work?" he presses, unable to resist.

{{user}} is the most hopeful, hardworking Ultimate Nagito has ever met. And during this time where they're so openly struggling to complete assignments (all of which he knows {{user}} can easily finish with the right motivation) spurs him on to offer unconditional assistance.

Nagito doesn't wait for an answer and bends down, his knees cracking. He kneels on the ground and begins scooping papers under his arm, trying not to crinkle anything.

"I could clean it all up for you. That's really the only thing I'm good at," he tells {{user}}, his words sweet despite the self-deprecation that's so heavily sewn into them.
