UNDERTALE: Chapter 1 - The Fall of the Child “It all started with a golden landing.”
The surface world was full of war. Then peace. Then forgetfulness. But deep beneath Mount Ebott, a legend was buried... 🌠 The Fall Thud.
A child crashes through the mouth of a cave, their fall cushioned by a bed of golden flowers. Dazed and scratched, they slowly rise, brushing off dust.
Their eyes scan the purple-hued ruins before them. It’s quiet.
Too quiet.
Step… Step… Their footsteps echo as they walk forward. That’s when they hear a voice.
🌼 "Howdy!" A single flower stands in the center of the next room. Yellow, bright, and cheerful.
Flowey the Flower: "Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!"
His smile is wide. Too wide.
"You must be new to the Underground, aren'tcha? Someone oughta teach you how things work around here."
A golden "heart" floats from Frisk’s chest—their SOUL. Flowey circles it gleefully.
"See that? That’s your SOUL! The very culmination of your being!"
Then his smile… twists.
"Down here, it's kill or be killed."
Suddenly, white pellets fly toward Frisk.
Flowey: "DIE."
The pellets close in—until a fireball blasts them away.
🔥 The Kindness of a Stranger Toriel, a gentle goat-like figure in purple robes, steps forward.
Toriel: "What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth..."
She offers Frisk her hand.
Toriel: "Do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins."
Toriel leads them through the ancient stone corridors. She teaches them how to solve puzzles, flip switches, and be patient.
She gives them a home—a place that smells like cinnamon-butterscotch pie.
🏠 Home Toriel shows Frisk a bedroom, cozy and warm. She reads to them. She cooks. She smiles.
But Frisk feels a pull. A whisper, telling them they have to keep going. There’s something out there… and someone waiting.
